Detroit Diamond made his first professional move into the music industry in 1999 by signing to Penalty Recordings/ Tommy Boy.
New York was a great experience for the young aspiring artist as it would earn him a small role in Hype William's Queens based film "Belly".

Detroit would later release an independent project entitled "Now or Never" that launched the underground hit "Fake Friends". Soon after, the elusive MC would move to California and pursue his dreams further by releasing another independent project entitled "Multiply" which featured Krayzie Bone and the Game.

While in California,

 Detroit would also get the opportunity to play a principle role in Rapper/actor "Sticky Fingaz" Hip Hop movie "A Day In The Life" and also feature on Sticky's Indi album "Decade". Currently Detroit is living in Hong Kong where he continues to produce and write music. His latest project "Something Bout You" featuring Carmit Bachar formally of the Pussy Cat Dolls is in Hmv stores through out Hong Kong.
Detroit also appears on the "Shanghai Tang Music Collection" release that is currently available in all Shanghai Tang stores. His newest project "Letter Home" will be available on itunes early 2011.
